Stolpersteine.app

From now on, all Stolpersteine worldwide can be included in the new version 2 of the Stolpersteine app. The current database already includes Stolpersteine from the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France, with more than 18,800 Stolpersteine spread over more than 475 cities. You can now integrate Stolpersteine from these countries into your own website. The interactive map is available in over 30 languages. Local organizations can now manage their own Stolpersteine in the CMS.

Version 2 of the Stolpersteine app was developed by Kyllian Warmerdam as a graduation project at Fontys ICT in Eindhoven.

Info

The German artist Gunter Demnig (1947, Berlin) puts memorials on the sidewalk in front of the houses of people who have been driven, deported, murdered or committed to suicide by the Nazis. These Stolpersteine remind of Jews, Sinti and Roma, political prisoners, homosexuals, Jehovah’s witnesses and euthanasia victims, among others. The stones are not only placed in the Netherlands and Belgium but also in Germany, Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Ukraine, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Israel.
